Expert session «Security in retail: opportunities vs need»
A direct dialogue on the topic “Safety in retail: opportunities vs necessity” took place within the IX International Forum of Business and Government “Russian Retail Week 2023”.
The discussion was moderated by Konstantin Sergeev, head of the Association of Retail Security Experts. Konstantin noted that the challenges for Russian retail require a pragmatic approach to security, allowing to effectively manage risks and increase operational efficiency and business continuity.”
The session was opened by a report by Evgeniy Popov, an expert on protection against digital risks. Evgeniy shared cases with the participants on the topic “Digital risks: types, methods of identification, consequences of implementation.” The expert paid attention to brand reputation management, the role of the security service in protecting it, conducting investigations and eliminating incidents.
Andrey Nuykin, Chief information security officer at EVRAZ, shared his professional experience in information security and antifraud.
Konstantin Sergeev, head of the Association of Retail Security Experts, made a presentation on “Safe Collection”, sharing his experience in implementing a project to equip a retail network with automated deposit machines (ADM).
Mikhail Korablev, CEO of BIT, presented the participants with statistical information based on the STOP-Shoplifter information and analytical system, which included both a portrait of a shoplifter and details of the TOP losses by retail segment, demonstrating the unique capabilities of Russian developments in the field of facial recognition and predictive video analysts.
