Retail & security

On May 27-30, the International Trade Center held the anniversary X International Forum of business and government «Week of Russian Retail - 2024», traditionally organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Association of Experts of the Retail Market.

The large-scale exhibition of the Forum brought together more than 250 companies. Leading suppliers, service and consulting companies with the latest products and services demonstrated cutting-edge retail developments and technologies. During the exhibition, many business meetings and negotiations took place, participants found new partnerships and business connections.

The platform of the International Forum of Business and Government “Russian Retail Week” has been providing an opportunity for open dialogue on the topic of retail safety for several years now.

The business program events, where issues of integrated security and control in retail were discussed, aroused great interest among the heads of security services of retail chains from different regions of the Russian Federation. These were sections such as: “Operational efficiency in retail, the role of the security service”, “Supply chain security. Theft prevention and cargo control", "Physical security, anti-terrorism in retail".

Representatives of the working group on economic security in retail of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee on Business Security took an active part in the organization and conduct of these events, and its leader, head of the Association of Retail Security Experts, Konstantin Sergeev moderated the round table “Operational efficiency in retail, the role of the security service.”

The Roundtable discussed risk management, innovation and security technologies.
The speakers were:
  • Alexander Yurchenko, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Security of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee on Business Security, Professor of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Director of the Institute of Security Problems;
  • Vyacheslav Mikhailovsky, Director for Security and Loss Prevention, Deputy General Director for Information Security of the Sportmaster Group;
  • Dmitry Likhov, Security Director of the OKEY Group of Companies;
  • Sergey Sherstobitov, General Director of the Angara Security Company;
  • Stepan Ustinov, Head of the Retail Department of the BIT Company;
  • Igor Chumarin, expert in the field of loss prevention (trade security).
Alexander Yurchenko positively assessed the interaction of the working group, emphasizing the need to further maintain an open dialogue, the importance of effective and respectful interaction between all parties to the retail security triangle - government, business and customers.
